- 1 cup sourdough starter (discard works great)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the Filling:
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
For the Icing:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tbsp milk or cream
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Mix the sourdough starter, flour, milk, sugar, melted butter, and salt in a bowl until a soft dough forms. Let rest for 1 hour.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle (about 1/4-inch thick).
- Spread melted butter over the dough and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly into a log and cut into 1-inch pieces.
- Place the bites in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 2 hours.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix icing ingredients and drizzle over the warm cinnamon bites.
2. Sourdough Soft Pretzels

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
For Boiling & Topping:
- 6 cups water
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- Coarse salt or cinnamon sugar
Instructions:
- Combine sourdough starter, water, sugar, salt, and flour to form a dough. Knead for 5 minutes, then let it rest for 1-2 hours.
- Divide dough into 8 pieces and roll into ropes. Shape into pretzels, letters, or animals.
- Boil water with baking soda. Drop pretzels in for 30 seconds, then place on a greased baking sheet.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt or cinnamon sugar.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
3. Sourdough Rainbow Bagels

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Gel food coloring (various colors)
For Boiling & Topping:
- 6 cups water
- 1/4 cup honey
- Optional: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or rainbow sprinkles
Instructions:
- Mix starter, water, sugar, salt, and flour to form a dough. Knead until smooth and let rest for 2 hours.
- Divide dough into 4-6 sections and knead a few drops of food coloring into each until vibrant.
- Roll each section into ropes, twist the colors together, and form bagel shapes.
- Let rest for 30 minutes. Boil water with honey and drop bagels in for 30 seconds.
- Place boiled bagels on a baking sheet, sprinkle with toppings if desired, and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes.
