My Sourdough Journey-Friends , Family , Micro Cottage Bakery

Two years ago, I embarked on a journey that started with nothing more than flour, water, and patience. I wanted to create something truly from scratch—something alive, something meaningful. That’s when I made my first sourdough starter. I nurtured it daily, feeding it, watching it bubble and grow, not realizing at the time that this simple mixture would soon become the heart of a passion that would touch so many lives.

At first, my sourdough baking was just for my family and close friends. I would spend late nights in my kitchen, carefully mixing, kneading, and shaping each loaf by hand. The process of sourdough baking isn’t quick—it takes anywhere from 8 to 14 hours from start to finish. But there’s something beautiful about that. It’s a labor of love, a testament to patience and craftsmanship.

As I gifted loaves to friends and neighbors, something incredible happened—word spread. One by one, people began reaching out, asking if they could get a loaf of my homemade sourdough. Soon, what started as a small passion project turned into something much bigger. Today, I bake fresh sourdough bread daily, working through the night so that each loaf is warm, fresh, and ready for customers by morning. My bread is now stocked in three different locations, bringing the taste of homemade, traditional sourdough to even more people.

Sourdough is more than just bread to me—it’s a connection to the past, a reminder that good things take time. It’s the feeling of comfort when you tear into a fresh, crusty loaf, the joy of sharing something homemade with others. Every loaf I bake carries a piece of my journey, from those first experimental batches in my kitchen to now having a growing following who eagerly awaits their next bite.

I never imagined that a simple act of baking bread for my loved ones would turn into something so fulfilling. But here I am, covered in flour, awake through the quiet hours of the night, crafting each loaf with the same care and dedication that started this journey. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
